Alpange at Art Basel Paris 2026

In October 2026, an Alpange piano was selected for the Collectors Lounge at Art Basel Paris, on the first floor of the Grand Palais. Three years after its presence at The Bass during Art Basel Miami Beach, Alpange found a new setting at the meeting point of art, design and music.

Both a musical instrument and a sculptural design piece, the Alpange piano brings a distinctive presence to the spaces it inhabits. Its form draws the eye; its sound invites people to gather. At the Grand Palais, collectors could encounter both dimensions — first through looking, then through listening or playing.

From Miami to Paris: A Continuing Dialogue

In December 2023, an Alpange piano was chosen for the VIP lounge at The Bass, Miami Beach’s museum of contemporary art, during Art Basel Miami Beach. On opening night, a pianist and singer performed for members, bringing live music into the museum setting.

That encounter opened a dialogue between Alpange and the world of contemporary art. In Paris in 2026, the dialogue continued within the fair itself, in a space where collectors paused between gallery visits and conversations.

Across these two settings, the piano offered a shared experience of design and music: an object whose visual presence could be appreciated before a single note was played, and whose character unfolded further at the keyboard.

Paris, a Meeting Point for Art and Design

Held from 23 to 25 October 2026, the fifth edition of Art Basel Paris brought together 211 exhibitors from 41 countries and territories at the Grand Palais.

Beyond the fair, exhibitions and events drew collectors, gallerists, museum directors, architects and designers across the city. Art moved between galleries, institutions and public spaces, creating encounters between disciplines and audiences.

Within the Grand Palais, architecture shaped the experience. Above the nave, the Collectors Lounge offered a more intimate setting — a place to pause, exchange ideas and spend time with the objects around it.

A Sculptural Presence, an Invitation to Play

In this setting, the Alpange piano expressed the full scope of its design. Its sculptural form gave it a place in the room’s composition, while its musical purpose invited a more personal connection.

This relationship between form and use is central to Alpange. Design, musical expression and technological innovation come together in an instrument conceived for the way people live with music today. The piano becomes part of an interior’s identity and, through playing, part of its everyday life.

For collectors attentive to the dialogue between art and design, an Alpange piano offers several ways to engage: through its silhouette, its sound and the experience of making music.

During Art Basel Paris, artist Silvia Zanetti spent time at the Alpange piano, playing in the Collectors Lounge and bringing its musical presence to life.

Over the course of the week, collectors also sat down between appointments. Some played a few notes and left. Others stayed.
